Wow after 126 years the lads from WTFC are through to the 4th Round of the Buildbase Vase, a magical achievement after winning a hard fought game against Norwich United today 2 -1.
A decent game with a determination to win from both teams which a couple of times was a little too earnest and resulted in both sides being reduced to 10 men. A rather nasty tackle just a few minutes into the match resulted in a Norwich player being shown the red card and a slight error of judgement by the WTFC Goalkeeper saw him step outside of the area whilst holding the ball.
Wellingborough Town FC went one up at just on 26 minutes when young Buckby scored but didn't manage to score a second until the 77th minute when the tall Dan Stevenson put it, it seemed out of time for Norwich to take it to extra time, but they fought back with attack after attack and were rewarded with a consolation goal minutes from the end.
So now we wait with anticipation as to whom our opponents will be in Round 4. Fingers crossed for a Home Draw.
