Its not called the Lake District for nothing and despite the weather hundreds of Vintage Cars from the V.S.C.C. took part in this years 'drowned rat series' oops I mean Lakeland Trial. 

Sections in Whinlatter Forest  ( thank you for the lift ;-) ) and at Honister Pass were difficult but as a few proved not impossible even when visibility was down to yards through non existent windscreen wipers.

I have to admit to giving up taking photos when the rain lashed me sideways at Honister and as I drove away in my Mini the spray caused by water hitting the bridge rather than going under it was a sight for my eyes only as no way was I stopping for my little Mini to be washed away.

As one local put it, 'We ain't seen it like this in years but by gum it'll fill up 'em lakes quick'.
